Imagine What They Will Say

Imagine, if you will, for a moment, how shocked this doubting world will be.

When Jesus Christ comes again, it will be to a people who have long worshiped movie stars and athletes. They even idolized politicians. And an array of TV preachers making promises of health and wealth. They claim this can be achieved if viewers send part of their savings. Social Security payments will also be accepted for those of great faith.

Those watching the news have accepted everything in the name of diversity, tolerance, and control of their bodies. Many of those that didn’t mysteriously disappeared seven years before.

“Good Riddance,” one newspaper’s headline screamed in eight-inch type. “They were all narrow-minded. They were much too conservative for today’s new world order,” the editor-in-chief wrote in an extraordinary op-ed.

Now they gaze at the One before their eyes on a White Horse. Astonished, as if they just heard a dog talk. Who is he, and why is he here on a white horse.

Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True… (Revelation 19:11)

The network’s cameras turn to the blazing light in the sky. There He sits mounted on a shimmering white stead engulfed in His Shekhinah glory. The saints of all ages are with Him, along with all the angels of Heaven, which are innumerable. And yes, nearby is His bride, His precious blood-bought church.

The distinguished panel of commentators on cable TV debate among themselves who are these invaders? One says, “They’re aliens from a distant galaxy.”

Another interrupts, “Perhaps UFOs from our own galaxy. Have you ever visited Ruidoso, New Mexico?”

At last, an expert from the government responds on Zoom, “Those are drones disguised as people. I’m sure of it. I have the research on my desktop. I can do all of this through AI.”

Then, one anxious, astute reporter on location at the White House chimes in. She has risen to fame as a former model and talk show host. “Look, their leader on the white horse just spread his arms.” She motions to the cameras to zoom in. “There appears to be bloody nail prints in his hands.”

Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Matthew 24:30

The producer is overhead in the background, “Oh no, this can’t be. We need to cut to a commercial break.” His late Christian grandmother had once spoken to him of such a day.

The producer calls the network’s expert on religious issues. The anchor announces, “Our renowned theologian is on the phone. He has two Doctor of Divinity degrees. He is the author of the best-selling book Why You Can’t Trust the Bible. He is a seminary professor emeritus. He is our go-to expert on questions of religion.”

The theologian responds, “It is similar to a story in the antiquated book, the Bible. The allegory is fiction, a mere fairy tale.” The room breathes a sign of relief. But, it will be short-lived.

The anchor turns to the producer and says: “Look at that lady. She is to the right of the man on the white horse. She looks like your late Grandmother.”

The producer says under his breath, “It is her.” The panel is as pale as a ghost trying to gain their composure.

The anchor attempts to change the subject. “Are they filming a movie I am unaware of?” she asks the entire room.

“This is no movie,” a janitor hands her a note, to everyone’s surprise. “The identity of this person has long since been recorded.”

The producer speaks to the anchor, panel, and white house reporter through their earpieces. Stay focused on the janitor. We will look empathetic.

The White House reporter tells the panel I’ll call my boyfriend to collaborate on the janitor’s claim. I once studied Comparative Religion. “Yes, the one with the dust. You will need a ladder and a dustpan,” she explains to her boyfriend.

The anchor says, “Please give the janitor a microphone.” The janitor is in the winter of her life. After reporting record profits, she was hired as a janitor to improve the network’s image. The elderly lady was discovered sleeping on the sidewalk in front of the studio.

“There is no need for a ladder or dustpan,” the old woman says on her microphone. “You see, the One on that lead white steed wrote His Word in my mind and heart one winter night. He inscribed it in the tablets of my heart when a street preacher read the Bible to me.”

Her microphone suddenly has technical issues.

The President of the New World Order will hold a press conference in one minute.

“As your supreme leader, I remind you of a significant fact. My father and your god holds the title deed to this planet. I have commanded the kings of the earth and their armies. They are gathered together to make war against him, who sits on the horse. They also make war against His army.

“I wish to remind you. The ancient book of the banished Christians even said my father was the god of this age. All of you who wear my mark 666 know this to be true.

“Any questions.”

A national newsagent correspondent raised her hand and acknowledged, “You are the Supreme Ruler of the New World Order. On this, we all agree.

“Sir, I saw words on the thigh of the man on the White Horse as the camera’s zoom lens revealed. They say ‘King of kings’ and ‘Lord of Lords.’ Can you comment on that?”

“No more questions.”

The screens worldwide go dark as the Light of the World comes.

“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men'” Luke 2:13

The Word became flesh. (John 1:14)

“Suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: ‘Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!'” (Luke 2:13-14)

Jesus is called God in Titus 2:13, “Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.”

In just four words in John 1:14, we discover the real meaning of Christmas: “The Word became flesh.” This is the Gospel; the eternal God of the universe became a human being. The God who has no beginning or ending became flesh and bone.

Isaiah wrote of the birth of Jesus 700 years before it happened.

Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, “God with us. (Matthew 1:23)

The Bible says, “Whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

If these words are how you feel in your heart, then pray:

“Heavenly Father,

I pray to You, asking for the forgiveness of my sins.

I confess with my mouth. I believe with my heart that Jesus is Your Son. He died on the cross at Calvary, so I might be forgiven.

Father, I believe that Jesus rose from the dead. I ask Jesus to come into my life as my personal Lord and Savior.

I turn from my sins and will surrender to your will throughout my life.

Your word is truth. I confess with my mouth that I am born again. I am cleansed by the blood of Jesus!

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen!”

Many today have just enough religion to inoculate them from knowing Christ. —Randy Willis
